Install the app, switch the extension on in Safari's settings, and Safari stops loading ads, trackers and the scripts that feed AI ad-targeting. It works on every site you visit, and nothing you browse is logged.

AI CleanWeb for iPhone is now at 1.2.0, and the headline is a home-screen widget.

Your blocked count on your home screen Add the AI CleanWeb widget and you can see how many trackers and ads have been stopped, and whether protection is on, without opening the app. It comes in two sizes, and it is translated into every language the app supports.

iOS does not let any app place a widget for you, so it takes a moment of your time: touch and hold your home screen, tap the + in the corner, search for AI CleanWeb, then pick the size you want. The app will offer you the steps once it has something worth showing.

A weekly plan Complete Security is now available weekly, alongside the monthly and yearly plans. If you would rather try the full protection for a week than commit to a month, you can.

A better fit on smaller iPhones All five blocking choices now fit on an iPhone SE without any text being cut off, and the upgrade screen keeps the prices and the button on screen together rather than pushing one of them out of view.

• Fixed an issue where a newly added device on the Free plan could browse unfiltered. Free devices now block correctly from the first minute.
