What happens when my VPN is on?

Your VPN comes first - keep using it. When a VPN is connected it takes over your Mac's DNS, so the app's system-wide DNS layer pauses on that machine and the app shows an amber "VPN active" notice instead of pretending it's still filtering.

While the VPN is on:

• your browser extensions keep cleaning pages as normal,
• your other protected devices stay protected,
• system-wide blocking on this Mac resumes automatically when the VPN disconnects.

A VPN-compatible engine that removes this limit entirely is in development.
